Each case is assessed individually. During the consultation, we perform some basic tests. These include an electrocardiogram and an exercise test. This involves monitoring your blood pressure and heart rate to detect any narrowing in the coronary arteries. Following this, an ultrasound scan of the heart is performed (echocardiography). Based on this consultation, additional investigations may be required, such as a 24-hour blood pressure measurement, a MIBI scan, a CT scan of the coronaries, Holter monitoring or a cardiac MRI. These are determined based on your symptoms and family cardiovascular history. In heart disease, we usually start with drug treatment. Medication can also be used preventively. In some cases, intervention is necessary. This involves a procedure that is often performed via the groin or wrist. For this we collaborate with Middelheim Hospital or Onze Lieve Vrouweziekenhuis in Aalst. Of course, you can also opt for another hospital.

During a consultation, any complaints can be discussed and examined.
